Droidian snapshot 101 (patchlevel 2025-09-06) released!

After almost a year of development, the Droidian Project is happy
to announce the release of Droidian 101.

History:

  • 2025-09-07: initial release (Droidian 101, patchlevel 2026-09-06)

    • Pause the media on headphone disconnection

Experimental:

  • Experimental support for KDE Plasma Mobile 6.3.6, using wayfire as compositor.
    Ports can use the plamo_wf_experimental edition in community-devices.yml.

  • Allow HW acceleration on Firefox. It is opt-in, and you can enable it by installing the droidian-quirks-firefox-gpu
    package. F(x)tec Pro1, Pro1-X, Sony Xperia 5, Volla Tablet and Xiaomi Miatoll ports already
    ship this by default.

  • Add support for patch levels for released snapshots

  • Allow delivering updates to released snapshots

Platform:

  • Fix thumbnail creation on some devices

  • Many improvements on the telephony stack

  • libdroid: support vibration devices, including devices with “vibratorfeature” AIDL slot

  • feedbackd: move everything to libdroid

Devices:

  • linux-packaging-snippets: allow creating vendor_boot images

  • linux-packaging-snippets: allow adding an AVB footer at the end of the image

  • Improve robustness of getting cutout values at first boot

  • New device: Lenovo Thinkphone by Motorola (bronco), maintained by @arpio23

  • New device: Volla Phone X (yggdrasilx), maintained by @erikinkinen

Notes:

  • Default PIN is 1234.

  • If you don’t find any updates, please try dropping the APT package list cache, and retry:

sudo rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*
sudo apt update

The next development branch, 102, has been opened already. Devices tracking next will
automatically move to it at the next dist-upgrade.

2025-12-08: new Droidian 101 update (patchlevel 2025-11-30):

  • Firefox updated to version 145.0.1
  • Chromium updated to version 142.0.7444.175-1
  • Updates to Signal-Desktop
  • Pro1, Pro1-X: fix outdated libinput issue
  • Pro1-X: build cifs.ko as a module
